A travel through rare recipes which would be extinct as few of our
loved ones pass by. My husband always talk about the dishes his Appachi
(father's sis) make. The idea of a page for these uncommon formula haunt me
lately. I talked to my Mom in law, my mother to get few of the recipes. They
gave me few, and now consciously think of such food they once made and now do
not, and share to add in my collections.
The thought behind it is simple, treasuring the best for future.
Just like 70's, 80's generation being the last to record in a cassette and
first to use laptop's, and last in many more;
food is a treasure quite different, for obsolesce of any kind here is a
loss than up gradation.
Food is a scientific thought developed by people, considering the
occasion, people, climate, health condition, mood of a person, available
resources etc. From the base oil to combination of various ingredients, to time, method, mode and fuel of cooking it
is a well thought and executed effort which needs appreciation, respect and
desire to guard and treasure them.
While the coming generations would mostly depend on ready to eat,
frozen and junk foods, the pure pleasure of food from your backyard or farm
lands would soon cease to exist. However, conscious effort to retrieve them by
changing our own attitude and realization that man can exist without luxuries,
but not without land, water and food should be reinstated.
An exhilarating travel through time should evoke in me as well the
readers a desire to respect and love nature and our forefathers for their
foresight which we loose, producing drastic atrocities for our kids round the
corner.
